Sense of Peace and Absence of Pain Nearly all near-death experiences include an overwhelming sensation of calm euphoria and freedom from physical suffering even when the body is severely injured. This contrasts sharply with the agony expected during trauma. The peace is described as deeper than any earthly emotion. Medical theories suggest endorphin or ketamine-like chemical release but fail to explain its universal presence across diverse circumstances. For many this element validates the idea that consciousness can detach from bodily distress reinforcing beliefs in a soul or spirit unaffected by physical decay and capable of existing beyond mortal limits.
