StarCraft II: Released in three parts between 2010 and 2013 StarCraft II redefined real-time strategy with polished mechanics balanced factions and a cinematic campaign. Players choose Terran Zerg or Protoss each with unique units and strategies. The story continues the saga of Jim Raynor Sarah Kerrigan and Arcturus Mengsk across the Koprulu Sector. Its campaign missions are highly varied with RPG elements and branching paths. The multiplayer mode features ranked ladders and robust replay tools. StarCraft II became a major esports title especially in South Korea where it was televised. Blizzard’s support through patches and custom maps extended its life. The Arcade mode enabled user-created games like MOBAs and tower defense. StarCraft II remains a benchmark for RTS design and competitive play on PC.
