Arnold Palmer Arnold Palmer was the charismatic pioneer who popularized modern golf, winning seven major championships and 62 PGA Tour events. His aggressive style—“swinging from the heels”—and magnetic personality made him a fan favorite, helping bring golf to television audiences in the 1960s.
