Voyager Recordings

The Voyager Golden Records, aboard both Voyager spacecraft, represent humanity's first intentional interstellar message. These 12-inch gold-plated copper disks contain sounds and images selected to portray Earth's diversity, including music from various cultures, natural sounds, and 115 analog-encoded photographs. Launched in 1977, the records remain the farthest-traveling human artifacts, now in interstellar space.
