Mario Lemieux Mario Lemieux was a towering, graceful center whose combination of size, skill, and scoring touch made him one of the most feared players in NHL history. Playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, he won two Hart Trophies and led the team to back-to-back Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992.
