Annapurna I

Annapurna I, the world’s tenth-highest peak at 8,091 meters (26,545 feet), is arguably the deadliest 8,000-meter giant—with a climber fatality rate of 32%. Located in Nepal’s Annapurna Massif, its south face is a 3,000-meter wall of ice and avalanches. First summited in 1950 (the earliest 8,000er ascent), its name means "Goddess of Harvests" but demands brutal sacrifices.
