The Titanic Premonition Dream (1913) Writer Morgan Robertson published a novella in 1898 titled Futility about a massive unsinkable ship called the Titan that sank in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg. Though not a dream the story originated from what Robertson described as a vision or nightmare. The parallels are striking: both ships were named similarly were the largest of their time carried insufficient lifeboats and sank in April after side damage. Skeptics note Robertson was knowledgeable about maritime trends but the accuracy in name location and cause fuels speculation. The case blurs fiction and foresight raising questions about creative imagination as a channel for unconscious prediction.
