Kinkajou: The kinkajou, sometimes called the "honey bear," is a rainforest mammal from Central and South America, related to raccoons. Nocturnal and arboreal, it has large eyes, soft fur, and a prehensile tail used for climbing. Kinkajous are generally quiet and gentle when hand-raised, forming bonds with owners. However, they require a large, secure enclosure with climbing structures and a specialized diet high in fruit and sugar. They are active at night, which may disrupt household routines. Ownership is illegal or regulated in many areas. They can become aggressive if stressed or improperly socialized. Their wild nature persists despite captivity. Ethical and conservation concerns also apply. Kinkajous are not domesticated and demand expert care, making them unsuitable for most people.
