The Laird Mansion Project (2001–2003) A team of psychologists and paranormal investigators held blind séances at the reportedly haunted Laird Mansion in Ohio. Mediums unaware of the building’s history gave readings while sensors monitored EMF sound and temperature. Some descriptions matched documented events and former occupants. Statistical analysis showed above-chance accuracy in certain details. However results were inconsistent across sessions. The project attempted to apply laboratory standards to traditional séance practices. It concluded that while some information might reflect environmental sensitivity no conclusive evidence proved spirit communication leaving room for both psychic and psychological interpretations.
