Heat Bursts

A heat burst is a rare and sudden onset of extreme dry winds and a rapid temperature spike, often occurring at night. Caused by the collapse of a dying thunderstorm, descending air compresses and heats adiabatically as it plummets to the ground. This can cause temperatures to soar dramatically in minutes, sometimes shattering records and causing damage, before just as quickly returning to normal.
