The Doors: Formed in Los Angeles in 1965, The Doors blended rock, blues, poetry, and psychedelia into a dark, hypnotic sound. Led by the charismatic and enigmatic Jim Morrison, the band pushed lyrical and performative boundaries. Hits like "Light My Fire," "Riders on the Storm," and "Break On Through" showcased Ray Manzarek’s keyboard mastery, Robby Krieger’s guitar work, and John Densmore’s jazz-influenced drumming. Morrison’s rebellious persona and onstage unpredictability made them both iconic and controversial. After Morrison’s death in 1971 at age 27, the band released two more albums before disbanding. The Doors’ fusion of music and mysticism, along with Morrison’s poetic vision, left a lasting imprint on rock. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
